Local diving on the Barrier reef is easily accessible - with many sites just a ten minute boat ride. There are over 30 dive sites found in front of Ambergris Caye, and all are classed as easy or beginner level, recreational dives. The terrain is described as "Spur and Groove" formations, ranging from depths of 30 ft to 100 ft with normal visibility being from 60 ft to 100 ft plus. Diverse amounts of tropical fish and coral formations exist, and our water temperature averages from 80-82 degrees Fahrenheit.
Turneffe Atoll is noted for it's diverse marine life. It is approximately 48 kilometers wide and has approximately 80 logged dive sites. You are almost certain to see Sting and Eagle Rays, Green and Hawksbill Turtles, Moray Eels, Dolphins, several varieties of shark, and large schools of snapper and jacks. At certain times of the year you may also have the opportunity to dive with Whale sharks.
